Aga khan palace (Gandhi museum) in Pune

The Aga Khan Palace was built by Sultan Muhammed Shah Aga Khan III who wanted to help the poor during famine by offering them work to build the palace. During Indian freedom movement it was used as a prison for Mahatma Gandhi. This is the place where Kasturba Gandhi and Mahadev Desai (Gandhi’s secretary) died. Later ASI declared this building as National importance and converted this as Gandhi Museum.
Timing 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, Entry ticket 20rs per head, photography and videography allowed inside without any extra fee. This is quite an attractive place and one of the top 10 places to visit in Pune.

Sinhagada Fort (सिंहगड / ಸಿಂಹಗಡ / ସିଂହଗଡ ଦୁର୍ଗ) near Pune

Sinhagada Fort (सिंहगड / ಸಿಂಹಗಡ / ସିଂହଗଡ ଦୁର୍ଗ)- is about 50 kms from Pune
The fort is located on top of a mountain at a height of 1312m (4304ft), this is quite a big height and the vehicle has to go through a zig zag route on the mountains. This is like a Beautiful hill station. This place was much better than my expectation. Large number of people were there and the place was like a festival. As it is a long walk on the hills you may need 1 to 2 hours to cover the fort. However, if you have more time you will never be bored. You can walk to different sides, explore caves, climb on forts, do picnic and spend the whole day here.In my case It was a great enjoyment visiting this place. I would say it is one of the top 10 places to visit in Pune. If you have extra time in your Pune trip don’t miss this place.
